Harry 'Snub' Pollard

Australian-born slapstick comedy star of the silent era who had his own series of films with Hal Roach in the early 1920s.  There was a rumour that he was at one point engaged to co-star actress Marie Mosquini.  This has been proven to be false. Some sources claim he is the brother of actress Daphne Pollard, but others claim this is untrue.  For the record: they both performed as part of Pollard's Lilliputian Opera Company and adopted the surname Pollard as their professional names (Snub's real surname being Fraser, Daphne's being Trott).
