The Sleepy Head

(from approximately 1 min 25 secs footage available for viewing): A sleepy EDDIE BOLAND pushes a wheelchair-bound man (WALLACE HOWE) into a room and then spoon-feeds him his medicine. A doctor enters the room and examines the man in the wheelchair and then shakes Eddie's hand. In the next scene, a hopeful SAMMY BROOKS is seen flirting with two young nurses before Eddie comes and orders one of the women away. She returns with a contraption, which is placed on Sammy's chest. When there is no reading the nurse places it over Sammy's breast pocket and the dial on the machine spins around, meaning it has hit the jackpot. The nurse lifts a bunch of money from Sammy's pocket but before Eddie (who could be playing a con man, the footage is too short to know for sure) is kicked out of the building by the doctor. Eddie lies down at the foot of the stairs and goes to sleep. |
