Bob O'Conor
born: 19 November 1893
Laredo,
Mexico
died: 01 May 1974
Laredo, Texas,
United States of America
(heart disease, age 80)
Mexican-born actor who frequently worked at the Hal Roach Studios. When the studio entered the sound era, without the technical ability to produce foreign-language dubbed films, its 1929-1931 Laurel & Hardy comedies were performed phoenetically by the cast in several languages. Bob O'Conor was Stan & Babe's dialogue coach for the Spanish-version films. Not to be confused with Robert Emmett O' Connor.
His parents were Thomas O'Conor (b. Ireland) and Maria Emma Ap-Jones (b. Calif.), who married in Texas on July 12, 1886.  He had several brothers (possibly more than listed here):
-Patricio Juan Douglas (July 16, 1887 - death unknown)
-Tomas (February 10, 1889 - death unknown)
-Daniel (August 1, 1891 - September 4, 1963)

Both WWI and WWII Draft Registration Cards say he was born in Laredo, Mexico. According to the latter, he was 5'11" and weighed 195 pounds. On September 11, 1933, he married a Frances Robinson (26, also from Mexico). He is working as a tile salesman.

He was also known as "H.L. O'Connor" in his early Roach films with Harold Lloyd.
Real name: Roberto O'Conor
Height: 5'11"
