Charles Stevenson
born: 13 October 1887
Sacramento, California,
United States of America
died: 04 July 1943
Palo Alto, California,
United States of America
(age 55)
American actor who worked for Hal Roach in the late 1910s until the mid-1920s.

Charles' mother, Anna M(argaret) Fell (b. 5 Jun 1869, CA - d. 14 Jan 1947, Los Angeles), married an Emil C. Haffner (possibly b. circa 1865-1868 - possibly d. 30 Aug 1927, Shasta County, CA) on 1 Feb 1886 in Sacremento, CA. Emil was actually Charles' real-life birth father, and as a result, Charles' real name appears to be CHARLES EDWARD HAFFNER (also sp. HAFNER).
However, it appears Emil and Anna divorced between then and circa 1895, when Anna remarried to Robert Bruce Stevenson (b. 21 Jan 1871, CA - d. 10 Sep 1961, Los Angeles). Charles was adopted by his stepfather (1910 Census says Charles is Robert's "adopted son").
Also, interesting note from his WWII draft reg. card (filled out 25 Apr 1942) -- under "obvious physical characteristics..." (also used to note disabilities), he notes "paralized [sic] left side." He died of currently unknown causes a little more than a year later; I wonder if maybe he had a stroke or something similar...
Real name: Charles Edward Haffner
Height: 5'11"
