SNUB POLLARD
1919-1926
Harry 'Snub' Pollard was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1889 and was recruited by Hal Roach in 1915 to play opposite Harold Lloyd in the Lonesome Luke films, the first series for the company to be produced. Snub continued his support for Roach's main star through until 1919 when he was given his own series - just one week after Lloyd's bomb accident. Snub's own series ran for five years. Pollard holds the record for the most appearances for Roach: 283.

The following 132 films were from the Snub Pollard series*. *The first entry, Hello Teacher (1918), was actually released as part of the Harold Lloyd series, minus Lloyd and with Pollard in the lead role.
