STAN LAUREL
(1918-1919, 1923-1924)

Stan Laurel's film career with Hal Roach began in 1918 after he had appeared in a handful of short films for other companies. Laurel would be the lead star in five films for Roach between 1918-1919 before leaving to work elsewhere. In 1923 Laurel would return to Roach for a two year stint where he would have his own series and went on to star in 25 films for the company. He left Roach again in 1924 and spent a year making films for Joe Rock before returning in 1926.
Many of Laurel's films were average at best, though many fans are much kinder in their assessment of them.

The films listed on this page are those from the Stan Laurel series (1923-24), or where Laurel was the main star (1918-19).
