Short American actor, often seen as newsboys and other role types typically associated with short actors (bellhops, elevator operators, caddies, etc.), and later as townsmen and barflies in Western films and TV shows including over 100 episodes of "Gunsmoke." Rex's acting career spanned from the late silent era through the era of television into the early 1970s. Rex's parents were Annie Elizabeth (née Ward, 1871-1905) and Samuel Moore (1868-1921); he had one sister, Irene Bernadette (Moore) Nettles (1902-1965). On 6 November 1929, Rex married Lucretia Nora Jane Smith (1910-1987) in Hollywood, California; Lucretia filed for and was granted a divorce in December 1933. This was Rex's only (known) marriage. After his passing, Moore was interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. |
