Petite American actress; a WAMPAS Baby star of 1926. She was the first recipient of the Academy Award for Best Actress: in 7th Heaven (1927), Street Angel (1928) and Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927).
In September 1982 she was seriously injured a taxicab accident in San Francisco, California along with her (third) husband Paul Gregory. She died two years later from complications as a result of the incident.
Interred at Hollywood Memorial Cemetery (now Hollywood Forever), Hollywood, California, USA, Section B, east side of lake.
