American actress and acrobat, who performed a bounding trampoline act in vaudeville with her husband Pete Bell; together, they were known as "Bell and Eva." They both acted alongside a young Oliver Hardy in his earliest film appearances at Lubin. She was previously known as Eva Zeno, of comedy aerialists "Zeno, Jordan, and Zeno," and was also known as Edith Eva.
Eva Scranton and Peter Greenwald (Pete Bell) married on 6 November 1907 in London, Ontario, Canada. They settled in Eva's hometown of Saginaw, Michigan, and had two children: Peter Leroy Greenwald (1909-1971) and Evelyn May Greenwald (1911-1936); Evelyn, who worked in her parents' act, tragically died at age 25 from burns after she accidentally set her bedwear on fire with a cigarette. The entire family is interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw.
