Young brunette American actress of the 1920s, a one-time Mack Sennett actress and Bathing Beauty, also credited as Connie Dawn and Consuela Dawn. She was the older sister of Andrew Dunton; their parents were Maria Francisca Herminia (née Arnaiz, 1887-1983) and Dr. Wallace Archibald Dunton (1868-1947), who married on 28 August 1907, three months after Consuelo's birth; Herminia and Dr. Dunton separated in 1914, and Herminia (who charged cruelty) was granted a divorce and custody of the two kids a year later. Herminia soon re-married to William Horace Ely (1884-1968), film casting director and makeup artist; Ely's siblings were Annie Carter and Roach/Harold Lloyd casting director Leonore "Nora" Ely (1881-1933), his half-brother was Ed Bumps, and his father was W.H. Ely. Consuelo and Andrew's step-cousins (Nora's children) were Olaf Shuler and Regena Shuler.
Consuelo was married three (or four) times, all three unions ending in divorce: first to real estate man Thomas Henry Brophy (1900-1963; m. 1924, div. 1930), then twice to chiropodist Dr. Arthur Gilbert Garland (1908-1987; m. 1939, Consuelo filed for divorce in 1940; they re-married in 1941, though Consuelo re-filed for divorce less than a year later), and finally to mining engineer Melville Ernest Rogers (1903-1983; m. 1950, div. 1966).
Consuelo S. Rogers is interred with her mother and stepfather at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles.
