Billy 'Froggy' Laughlin

died: 31 August 1948 La Puente, California, United States of America (road accident, age 16)

Young child star who is most remembered for his short-lived role of 'Froggy' in the later Our Gang shorts.  His gravel voice was exploited by an MGM talent scout and after his test and positive public reaction he was signed to a term contract to Our Gang. He was killed whilst riding double with a friend on a moped, delivering newspapers on an old three-lane highway in La Puente when he was hit from behind by a truck. His brother was Mickey Laughlin.
