| Black American jazz drummer/percussionist who played for Paul Howard and Harvey Brooks' "Quality Four" (1923-24), then served as drummer for Paul Howard's Quality Serenaders until 1926, whereupon he was replaced by Lionel Hampton. His nickname of "Tin Can" came from his use of an actual tin can in his instrumentation. |
