American child actor who was a fairly frequent supporting kid in Our Gang comedies (and occasionally other Hal Roach comedies) of the 1920s. His father, Arthur Garfield Robinson (1882-1975), was a mechanic who once owned his own garage in Culver City and later worked for Douglas Aircraft Co. His mother was Julia Curtis Fairfield (1884-1961); Arthur and Julia married in 1909. In adulthood, Clark(e) followed in his father's footsteps and also worked for Douglas Aircraft Co.
While I cannot find any direct evidence of this Clark(e) Robinson working in films, I'm calling the man chronicled in the information here as "our" Clarke Robinson based on several factors: he's the only person I can find with that name who would've been the right age at the right time, the age itself seems right on (spanning ages 8-11 in his known appearances), his father's address is given as 6300 Washington Blvd. (a Culver City address) in a 1926 California voter registration (newspaper hits reveal this address to be Robinson Garage), the family is living in nearby Santa Monica in the 1930 Census, and Clark(e) is living in Culver City itself on his 1940 World War II draft registration card (and at the same address in the 1940 Census, though it's referred to there as Los Angeles City). His draft card also notes him having red hair, which looks exactly like Clarke's hair color in his film appearances.
