American bantamweight boxer and sometime actor, later known as Frank LaBarba or Ted LaBarba. He is not to be confused with at least two other pugilists named "Ted Frenchie" during the 1920s and 1930s. His younger brother was noted flyweight boxer and sportswriter Fidel LaBarba, who won the gold medal in flyweight boxing at the 1924 Summer Olympics.
