American actress and dancer, once billed as "California's Greatest Spanish Dancer." She was the seventh of eight children born to John Alphonsus Costello (1859-1938) and Agnes Marcella (O'Loughlin) Costello (1871-1948), both of Irish heritage, who were married in 1891. Mildred married Oran Henderson Nance, Jr. (1904-1980) in 1932; they had two children, Barbara Marion Nance (1933-2022) and Richard Oran Henderson Nance (b. 1944) before Mildred was granted a divorce in 1946 (although they were living apart in the 1940 Census). By 1950, Mildred is living with the kids and selling baby clothes.
