Elderly American actress. 1923 and 1924 issues of The Standard Casting Directory list her among "English Types" and "Well-Dressed Women (Old)." Her parents, Margaret (née Phillips, 1848-1927) and John Pugh (b. ca. 1843; d. before 1900), were from Wales; she had an older sister, Martha E. Pugh (b. ca. 1869; d. before 1900). On Christmas Eve, 1898, in Ironton, Ohio, Jessie married traveling salesman Charles Elmer Heathman (1861-1953); she filed for divorce in 1911. Her death certificate says she was an actress for 50 years (probably an estimate).
