American actor. He filmed his role as Phillips in the Humphrey Bogart movie "Conflict" in 1943 but the its release was delayed due to a plagiarism lawsuit concerning its story. Edwin Stanley died in 1944, and the movie wasn't released until 1945. Personally, I think this was Bogart's best film he ever made.
