American actress, whose operatic voice was put to good use by Hal Roach in a handful of his films from the mid-1930s. She was known as Jessie while growing up, but hated it and reverted to Virginia and then Ginnie to her friends.

One source incorrectly gives her real name as Virginia Ida Weddle.
The IMDb lists her as the blonde opera singer in "Apples To You!" (1934), but this is incorrect.
