Young American actress. Her parents were Nellie E. (Monahan) and Roy Benjamin Sisk (1889-1942), who married on 15 March 1908 in Los Angeles; Nellie divorced Roy in 1937. Mary Ellen was briefly married to actor Robert Livingston (b. Robert Edgar Randall, 1904-1988) -- who was later married to Margaret Roach and Julie Carter -- from 31 May 1927 to early 1928, when she filed for divorce. She was later married to William Regis Cunningham (1905-1962) from 1936 to her 1944 death, and they lived in Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon.
Mary Ellen Cunningham died at 5:15am in the morning of 18 July 1944 at Providence Hospital in Seattle. The full cause is given on her death certificate as intestinal obstruction due to "adhesions - complicated by cerebral irritation of unknown etiology producing terminal convulsions," with terminal bronchopneumonia a contributory cause. She is interred at Calvary Cemetery in East Los Angeles, California.
