British actress. In 1899, she married George Moses John Salter (1870-1947), who worked as a carpenter and grip for film studios. They had two daughters: Georgia Bevan Salter (1903-1994), who married writer-director Harry Edwards, and Thelma Salter (m. Kaufman, 1908-1953), who performed in films as a child actress and later as a Mack Sennett Bathing Beauty. During 1924-25, Lou was involved in an unsuccessful lawsuit with screen star Renée Adorée against the Los Angeles Railway Company, totalling $80,000 ($50,000 for Adorée, $30,000 for Salter), after a November 1923 auto collision where they were both injured.
The Harold Lloyd Encyclopedia incorrectly lists her name as "Lew" in the entry for "Now or Never." It does (correctly) list her as "Lou" for "Among Those Present," however.
