American actor. At the time of his death, he had been acting for 18 years (per his death certificate), putting the beginning of his film career at around 1915; sources confirm as early as 1917 (WWI draft reg. card / L.A. City Directory; working for Fox Studios on the former). He was a World War I veteran, enlisting on 16 September 1917 (serial no. 2,265,761) and being discharged on 24 April 1919, reaching the rank of Sergeant, Medical Corps Company, 364th Infantry.
He died at Georgia Street Receiving Hospital, Los Angeles, after he was struck by an automobile driven by a bootblack at 22nd Street and Central Avenue. His death certificate gives the resultant cause as "Compound fracture of the skull with contusions of the brain and subdural hemorrhage." As a veteran, he is buried at Los Angeles National Cemetery.
