The father of child actors Mary Ann Jackson, Dickie Jackson, Peaches Jackson, and Bobby Jackson. He married their mother, Charlotte Louise Henry (1891-1992), on 4 October 1911 in Buffalo, New York. He worked at various times over the years as a bookkeeper, rail conductor, newspaper manager, and accountant. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage (due to hypertension) two days before his passing, at home (1422 North Detroit Street, Los Angeles) in the early morning (2:35am) of the day after his 56th birthday. He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
