Bobbie Hale

born: 27 May 1886
Liverpool,
England
died: 27 September 1977
Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California,
United States of America
(arteriosclerotic heart disease, age 91)

Short, red-haired British actor who immigrated from England in 1913. His 1917 naturalization paper says his hair was "brown" but the 1913 ship's passenger list and his WWII Draft Card say it was "red" and confirm his short height. One newspaper columnist in the 1930's referred to him as a "midget".
In 1918, his age kept him from being "drafted" into WWI so he enlisted in the Army Signal Corps and served until the end of the war and was discharged in 1919. He has no Draft Card but two enlistment cards from Hollywood. As a veteran, he was buried in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
There was another UK actor with the same name and about the same age who died in 1940. Easy to confuse them.
